Autumn Splendour Flower Festival

I was honoured to be invited as guest to the very first flower festival at the wonderfully historic Forde Abbey in Dorset.

A couple rooms normally not open to the public were bedecked in flowers too which meant that the visiting public had a chance of seeing these 'secret' rooms too.

Over 30 designers from Ile Valley Flower Club had worked their socks off to create numerous autumnal designs throughout the house and the Chapel, and three guest designers - Michael Bowyer, Nick Heale and Margaret Fairhurst - each created some designs in the Great Hall too.

The standard was incredibly high and the lovely hues a delight to the eye so I am pretty sure this won't be the last festival hosted at the Abbey!
