Pam Lewis at the Windmill Theatre, Littlehampton

  • 11th April 2015

East Preston Flower Club hosted their Open Meeting at this lovely venue on Littlehampton seafront and National NAFAS Demonstrator Pam Lewis travelled all the way from Devizes to be there.

Pam has the most wonderful sense of humour so her nearly two hour long demonstration was a joy to behold. Her demonstration was entitled Fascinating Facades and the six themed designs she produced in front of a full house (150+) were truly incredible.

Her floral creations included the floral green forest around a green man, sumptuous fuchsia pinks and purples at a masqued Venetian ball, cheery sunflowers surrounding an Inca God, a striking hot red display in front of fun London scene wallpaper panels, a colourful South African still life complete with wooden masks, and a mesh screen fitted with welding masks (both Pam and husband Peter are blacksmiths amongst other things!), wire shelves and scrolls spilling over with fiery orange flowers.

Having made the above six designs in front of us all, she then brought out accompanying pieces bringing the total to an incredible sixteen. It was well worth buying a raffle ticket or two to try and win one of those. And my friend Julia who came along with me struck lucky and took home one of the red Anthurium and Gerbera designs!

Pam's next 'big' appearance will be at Salisbury Cathedral in September - she is one of three designers who are creating the Magna Flora Flower Festival. I can't wait to pop along and see what she comes up with there!
