RHS Chatsworth Flower Show

  • 10th June 2018

What a joy to visit this new 'kid on the block' when it comes to RHS shows...

The main reason for my trip up north was to meet up with Jonathan Moseley which is always a joy and to see his incredible installation at this year's show. For the inaugural one, he had created a floral serpent over the Derwent river which was pretty spectacular but this year he sure surpassed himself in creating a huge orchid installation, with 20 florists.

This was housed inside a replica of the Great Conservatory at Chatsworth which head gardener Joseph Paxton designed back in 1836 and over 5000 orchids, all British grown, were featured as well as other exotic blooms such as bromeliads.

It was an utterly amazing sight and I am pleased to tell you that a feature on my visit and said installation will appear in the Winter 2018 issue of Flora International magazine which is published on 4 October 2018.
