Steyning Methodist Church Flower Festival

During a very hot early May Bank Holiday weekend - which turned out to be the hottest to date! - I created a contemporary design using three panels and embellishing these with glorious Phalaenopsis orchids and Asparagus setaceus.

The festival showcased some beautiful patchwork quilts too and as my Scandinavian grandmother used to knit patches which she then turned into patchwork bedspreads, I decide to feature some wool in my design to just to pay homage to this fact...

Lots of people saw the various installations and I am told mine caused quite a positive stir!
