Easter Flowers in St Margaret's Church, Rottingdean

Easter is one of the most important events in the church calendar and it is therefore only fitting that the church should be bedecked in some lovely spring flowers to celebrate the occasion. And once again, as part of the Rottingdean Flower Team, the honour fell on me to arrange the right hand pedestal in this lovely church.

My team mate this time - arranging the left hand pedestal - was Sue Clancy. Apart from the foliage we had gathered ourselves beforehand, we were given yellow Chrysanthemums, white Arum lilies, white and purple Lisianthus as well as purple Irises to work with.

It can be quite a challenge to work together with another designer and trying to create a mirror image design, but I think Sue and I pulled it off admirably!

Amongst others, Bernadette Hallinan created the lovely pew ends while Pam Pheby arranged the majestic font and Anne Frazier the arrangement that went in front of the Madonna.

By the time we had finished, the church looked lovely with all the designs created by some very talented ladies. And only two hours after we had cleared away and left the church, a bride was walking down the aisle towards holy matrimony. What a lucky lady to have such nice flowers to send her on her way!
