U3A Flower Arranging Workshop - Lesson One

  • 7th January 2016

Ann, Jill, Katie, Myra and Veronica - all members of Brighton & Hove U3A - took part in the first flower arranging lesson (out of a total of six) held at St George's Roman Catholic Church Hall in Hove.

Working with evergreen foliage such as laurel, Pittosporum, Griselinia, rosemary, leather leaf, olive, bay leaf and Euonymus they all created some stunning horizontal table centres. Flowers that featured included roses, spray roses, carnations, spray carnations, Gypsophila as well as some cheery Narcissus for scent and some seasonal berries.

Each one looked totally different - something they found fascinating considering that they all worked with more or less the same material!

They are all now looking forward to their second session on 4 February 2016...

More pictures of their designs can be found under 'Courses and Workshops'.
