Magical Winter Moments 2013

A group of flower arrangers, including my regular tutor Cally Meer, set off early on a damp and dull November's morning to go by coach to Bruges; the final destination being Oud Sint Jan; a former hospital which once a year hosts a spectacular flower event.

This annual event is the brain child of Fleur creatif - a contemporary flower design magazine - and features all the newest trends in home and floral decoration.

Master florists and decorators display stunning creations over three floors, and several in house shops sell all the latest mechanics you could possibly dream of needing.

It would be fair to say that each one in our group was totally blown away by the designs we saw and we were all properly inspired. All of us just felt sorry that we had so little time to spend at the venue; not helped by the fact that we had been stuck on the M20 for 45 minutes in an accident on our way over.

I swore there and then that I would return next year, and this time spend longer at the event! And I am going... watch this space...
