I was very honoured to be asked to provide the floral table centres for the IBDrelief Launch Party which took place at the American Express Community Stadium in Brighton on 20 February 2016 (www.ibdrelief.com).
As the eight tables for the function were round, I decided to make circular designs featuring purple Lisianthus, yellow roses, white Gerbera, lime green 'Shamrock' Chrysanthemum and carnations and with conifer, Ruscus, Pittosporum and tree fern for greenery. To complete the designs I also used Salix cinerea (pussy willow) as a tepee-type structure!
Following speeches, the guests were served a delicious gluten and dairy free buffet of lamb tagine with rice as well as a selection of salads followed by carrot cake, fruit panna cotta and fruit salad. To work off all those calories (!), there then followed energetic dancing to Three Days Straight - www.threedaysstraight.com - an acoustic rock band playing folky versions of modern and classic songs.
There was a raffle too which raised £500 for the Rockinghorse Appeal - two raffle prizes were donated by Floranina; a place on an Easter workshop as well as a large basket arrangement.
Here's wishing the team at IBDrelief all the very best with this worthwhile site.
