Kay and Matt's Wedding

I was so delighted to be asked to be florally part of Kay and Matt's special day. They tied the knot at Cottesmore Hotel Golf & Country Club and their colour scheme was cream and light blue.

Wanting to work with garden roses, I was thrilled to find a scented variety called Rosa 'Scented Vitality'. And let me tell you, its scent was absolutely intoxicating. The blooms were large and blousy and combined with a spray rose called Rosa 'White Bubbles' some striking Oxypetalum 'Heavenborn' as well as dainty Chamelaucium and fluffy, bleached Lagurus, Kay's bouquet was an absolute dream. Bleached Ruscus and the berries of Eucalyptus populus added some different texture and form, and a small photo memento of Kay's parents was affixed to the back of her bouquet.

Daughter Chelsea was Matron of Honour and her pale blue dress matched perfectly with the Oxypetalum in her bouquet.

And son Glen looked dapper in his suit waiting to meet his mum by the bridal car.

Groom Matt had seven groomsmen and their buttonholes featured roses, Lagurus as well as bleached Ruscus, with Matt's own buttonhole having some Oxypetalum too to ensure he harmonised with his bride. Grandson Oliver acted as ring bearer and his buttonhole featured smaller headed flowers to better harmonise with his height and size.

The three tiered iced wedding cake received a floral treatment too, and a customary Floranina heart featured in the proceedings as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed making two dried flower arrangements to give away during the speeches and I very much hope that the recipients will enjoy them for a long time to come... I particular liked adding some colour pops with the balsa-wood Gerbera!

Here's wishing the new Mr and Mrs Bowles all the very, very best...
