Lisa and Tom's Wedding

Lisa and Tom tied the knot at Crockstead Farm Hotel in East Sussex on a gloriously sunny July afternoon. Because the weather was so fine, their ceremony was held outdoors in a summery setting with a weeping willow next to the pond and with the resident peacocks and pea hens and ducks adding their own noise to the proceedings.

Lisa chose lilac, purple and cream for her wedding flowers and her bouquet was made up of cream Avalanche roses, lilac Dancing Cloud roses, purple Lisianthus, wax flowers and lilac Veronica as well as scented Eucalyptus Parvi.

For her three bridesmaids, the bouquets consisted of cream Avalanche roses and lilac Lisianthus as well as white Veronica and wax flowers, again with Eucalyptus Parvi.

For the buttonholes, I used white Lisianthus with a purple rim as well as wax flowers and Eucalyptus Parvi, while the corsages consisted of lilac spray roses with lilac Lisianthus buds, white Veronica as well as wax flowers and Eucalyptus Parvi. For the latter I also added a white feather as I knew there were birds in residence at the venue and I thus wanted to add a link. Imagine my surprise, and delight, to find the lawns littered with white feathers from the resident ducks when I got there. And no, I didn't use any of those, I had already bought mine!!

The reception was held inside the lovely barn at Crockstead and the round tables had a glass bowl each in the centre which I filled with water retaining beads in clear and purple, adding cream Avalanche roses or white and purple Lisianthus with wax flowers. There was a cream candle in the middle of each bowl too.

The long raised top table had three long moss trays with cream Avalanche roses and lilac Dancing Cloud roses, white birch twigs and a glittery wire heart each.

Finally, to send the happy couple on their merry way, I also made them a large floral heart using most of the flowers that featured for their Big Day. Lisa's mum Maggie was totally bowled over by that!

And finally, finally I want to say a big thank you to lovely Debi - my very able assistant - whose assistance on the day was invaluable!

Thank you so much for our flowers. They looked amazing! They were so beautiful we couldn't have asked for anything more. We had the most amazing day; so glad the sun stayed out! Take care ;-)
