Paul and Neale

Paul and Neale had no idea what they wanted florally for their big day and thus gave me free rein to decorate them for their ceremony at Southover Grange in Lewes as I wished. The same applied to their reception at the Queens Hotel in Brighton!

As they were wearing light grey suits with pink ties, I suggested that their buttonholes should feature a pink gerbera to complement this particular colour scheme, and they readily agreed. Since the day was damp and drizzly, the same colour was reflected in their brollies to keep them dry.

To ensure their respective mums felt included in proceedings, I made pretty corsages for them but this time featuring cream gerberas instead.

For the table centres at the reception venue, I alternated tall slim vases with gorgeous large silver or pink marabou feathers. Such decadence, eh!

And as the hotel was literally next to the beach, Brighton rock had to feature too as did polished pebbles.

For the buffet tables, I floated pink gerberas in fishbowls to add a splash of colour amongst all the food.

And, to make people giggle, a foam heart filled with cream and pink marshmallows was hung very close to the happy lads!

The lasting memory of the evening, I am told, was towards midnight when the guests began stripping the vases of their fluffy feathers and started dancing with them, tickling all and sundry at any given opportunity!

It was with great sadness that I learnt in early June 2016 that Neale had passed away. Sometimes life is really unfair. RIP Neale. xx

"We just wanted to say a big thank you for such a great job you did for us on our special day! Quite honestly if things had been left to us we may well have ended up with no decorations at all, however thanks to your flare and ideas (not to mention organisational skills!) everything looked fantastic and ran really smoothly. So many people commented on how lovely the table decorations looked and in fact as could be seen from some of the photos, by the end of the evening, certain people were even wearing the feathery ones!!!"
